ALTA® Venous Stent patent granted in Japan

Venous Stent B.V. is pleased to announce that a patent covering the ALTA® stent has been granted in Japan.

The granted patent protects the core architecture behind ALTA®, our multi-segmented, tapered venous stent system, using high radial force segments connected by flexible nitinol links. This design allows the vein to dictate the final shape, preserves natural venous geometry, and enables long-segment treatment with fewer overlapping implants, addressing key limitations of traditional continuous tubular venous stents in the treatment of long and complex iliofemoral disease.

Patent protection in Japan secures our intellectual property in one of the world's largest medical device markets and marks a further step in building a strong, defensible IP position for ALTA® as it moves through clinical development and towards commercialisation.
